i must say...
alright, time for an update. well may 20th was spring formal. mehhh..i cannot say it was entirely special. but that of course is just for me. nothing on the spring committee's part (especially since i was part of it...i think), they did a great job with the flowers, decorations, band, foods, etc. they did a really good job planning everything. but the highlight of the day was definitely the getting ready part. jen, bee and i bussed to jens house at like 12 30 after school and got there at like one-ish? oh! something you dont see everyday, a girl in a prom dress making instant noodles. jen looked so natural doing so though, its like she does it everyday... and then we watched white chicks we left jens house at like 2 30, after trying to look for like 70 bucks for each person to do our hair and then looking for shoes. we bussed to the hair academy place, which ended up not being a hair academy place. we were running across the street near the place when we got caught in the middle. that was scary but ridiculously fun too :P anyways we got to the hair placee they close at 3. those dumb nuts.
so jen called her friend adrian to pick us up from second cup and then half an hour later we go to hair avenue on finch for phoebs to do her curls for $30 (or so the lady said). anyways she (amanda) tricked her into getting it washed and cut (+ $28) and the final price ended up being $58 and phoebe was pissed. well after phoebs was doneee, me and jen had 25 minutes to do hair, makeup, etc. and we were like rushinng. anyways it all ended up nicely and then we went zooming off (literally) in lionels car. he's one crazyyy driver. hahaa we got there at 6:30, on the dot.
oh! and when i went home, my feet hurt :)
okay saturday i spend the day jsut like mehhh-ing. it was nice, i was just lounging in front of the tv. at night i went over to alexs house for bbq. YES! for me, summer officially started yesterday :D spent most of the time watching alex play world of warcraft and then we played smash bros and im sorry alex but you know you owe me a lunch. =D anyways there was this kid there called justin (i think) that kid was scaryy. he started out so innocent! then later on in the night, he turned vicious. seriously he started climbing on alex (which was hilarious) apparantly at school he's called monkey boy. freakyy..he bit me on the shoulder and it hurt. anyways the really sad thing is when he was talking about how hes in a gang.
okay, this kid is in grade 4 and he's bragging about how he's in a gang and how they beat each other up. hes proud that he almost got involved with the police. GRADE 4. seriously, kids act your age, it pisses me off. *hmph*
that got me worked up. lol
anyways today the missions team went to winnies house and we rolled pennies...and nickels, and dimes, and quarters, and loonies, and toonies. gosh, i love the "penny" drive. from the penny drive alone we raised like $2500. seriously, God is blessing us SO much, its completely crazy. we watched "Philadelphia," mainly just for the title of the movie, but holy crap, the movie is so sad. its about a homosexual man (Tom Hanks) that was diagnosed with AIDS and was fired for it. anyways, the movie is basically him and his trial against discrimination. number one, i have never realized how little i knew about the world outside mine. i mean i didnt really know anything about AIDS. i was watching the movie, and i was just like, is that what happens? i kid you not, the only thing i knew about AIDS is that its sexually transmitted, or through transfusion and theres no cure. and i didnt realize that this doesnt only happen in places like africa, it happens right here. why doesnt it occur to me that theres people suffering outside of my own mid-teenage-life crises. i'm frustrated.
